We usually make this traditional drum for our International clientele and for the Fife & Drumcorps in Basel. In contrast to the Basler drum, the American drums also vary in the height of the shell. By using a longer shell, in combination with the appropriate skins, we can influence the sound considerably and adjust it to the respective wishes of the clientele.
special parts
The American drums have some differences from the Basler drums. The drums are equipped with a simple string tensioner, the so-called mousetrap. This is a simple toggle lever by means of which the gut strings are adjusted. Another feature are metal inlays in the top hoop and metal feet.
